Zeek's 5:15 Sextet

Zeek Gross has played (and current plays) in dozens of well known Ottawa bands since his arrival in to the city 1987, including over 20 years with the Tony D Band. However his first local band was established on the very day he moved to Ottawa and wandered into a Bank Street restaurant called “The 5:15” to listen to some Jazz and have a drink. He ended up sitting in with the band and formed his own group the following week to begin a close to 5 year residency every Sunday afternoon and night, playing a unique mix of Soul, Funk, Fusion and Jazz with some of Ottawa’s best young players. Although the end of that era came when the restaurant closed, the young upstarts involved have grown into the finest session musicians around. Zeek felt the time was right to resurrect the 5:15 Band and its music. He will be joined by Jean Taillefer: Guitar, Ken Seeley: Bass, Brent Hultquist: Keyboards, Jamie Holmes: Drums and special guest Kelly Craig: Trumpet/Flugelhorn.
